The Great Pyramids Reflection

Posted by: afrin | March 10, 2008 |

I learned many new interesting facts about pyramids from the movie my classmates and I watched in class. One of the most interesting information that I learned was that even though Sneferu’s first two pyramids were failures, he had much determination and enthusiasm to create a proper pyramid. Now, Sneferu was a king of Egypt who had five sons and a dream of building a true pyramid. First he made the pyramids at Meidum which with pity, collapsed in the years that were following; therefore Sneferu couldn’t rest in peace in an unproper tomb, so that he knew that he had to built another pyramid as his tomb spot. Next he attempted to build another true pyramid which was the Bent pyramid at Dahshur, but unfortunately, even this was unsuccessful, for it was bent. Finally, keeping is aim in mind, he built the Red Pyramid which was a beauty, for it was said that it looked red when the sun shone on it. Sneferu built the pyramids in Egypt because Egypt was like the gift of the Nile where a lot of crops grew in the middle of a desserted nation. Out of Sneferu’s fie sons, only one followed his father’s path and built the now known Great Pyramid (one of the seven wonders of the Earth). Sneferu was a great king who kept on trying, and finally showed the world what he is capable of, but couldn’t do one thing which is to stop theives from coming and stealing tomb belongings! The determination of Sneferu truly encouraged me to always remember to have the determination needed to follow my dreams.
